If I am to paint landscapes, I have to be really inspired by my surroundings. Polperro, for instance, is awash with independent shops, ancient, flower lined buildings and art galleries, whilst It’s harbour really is a tranquil hive of activity and it’s this contrast that inspired to paint this piece. I really hope that you enjoy my take on one of my favorite places to visit in the southwest .This really is a magical place, and a haven for those who are inspired and captivated by mother nature.
Another favourite place of mine is the Wheal Coates mining landscape which was selected to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This land is now an homage to Cornish Tin Mining history. Situated in St Agnus the majestic, cliff’s are awash with colour and a plethora of vibrant wild flowers, which are being buffeted by biting coastal winds. You can walk through the tin mines ruins, depicted in my painting and explore the magical coastal paths.
This really is a magical place, and a haven for those who are inspired and captivated by mother nature. There were so many colours and textures to depict in this image and I’m so pleased with the finished piece, I do hope that you enjoy it too.
